Gachagua to Ndindi Nyoro: Make your stand about Mt Kenya interests known. Your silence is not helpful.

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has called on Kiharu Member of Parliament Ndindi Nyoro to take a clear stand on matters affecting the Mt Kenya region, stating that his silence is unhelpful.

Speaking during a community forum, Gachagua emphasized the importance of vocal leadership, particularly on issues that concern the people of Mt Kenya. He urged Nyoro to make his position known regarding the region’s interests, stressing that silence does not serve the community.

“We need to know where you stand. Matters concerning the community are not for the silent. We want to know our numbers and ensure our region’s voice is heard,” Gachagua stated.

Gachagua also criticized the current government under President William Ruto, claiming that it is not doing enough to address the struggles faced by Kenyans. He expressed concern over the growing dissatisfaction among citizens, particularly in the Mt Kenya region, where economic hardships have become increasingly evident.

“This government needs to do more to help Kenyans. The people are suffering, and we cannot pretend everything is fine,” he added.

The remarks come amid ongoing debates about the representation and prioritization of Mt Kenya’s interests within the national government. Gachagua’s call for accountability and transparency highlights the urgency of addressing the region’s concerns and ensuring its leaders actively advocate for the community’s needs.
