Close friends of Fred Omondi, comedians 2Mbili and Felix Omondi, recently shared insights into their friendship with Fred and recounted fond memories of their time together in Nairobi.
They reminisced about a period when they lived with Fred Omondi, noting that he generously provided them with opportunities to perform at club shows when he was at the peak of his fame. In those days, Fred was renowned not only locally but also performed internationally, although his recent years saw fewer performances due to a decrease in available shows.
Reflecting on their personal experiences, they disclosed Fred’s favorite food – fried Rosecoco beans. According to both friends, this dish was a staple in Fred’s home, always available either in his fridge or prepared fresh.
Both Felix Omondi and 2Mbili expressed deep sadness over Fred’s passing, emphasizing that their memories with him are cherished and that healing will be a gradual process. They fondly remembered Fred and expressed their heartfelt wishes for his soul to rest in peace.
