Veteran Kenyan sports commentator Fred Arocho has opened up about his recent departure from Radio Jambo and the lucrative move to his new home at Radio 47, revealing a significant boost in his earnings.
Speaking candidly, Arocho described his exit from Radio Jambo as amicable, stating that after 14 fulfilling years at the station, the time felt right for a fresh challenge. His decision, he said, was driven by a desire for personal and professional growth—an opportunity he found at Radio 47.
Touching on the financial aspect of his career shift, Arocho was forthright about the role salary played in the transition. While he acknowledged that Radio Jambo had compensated him fairly, he pointed out a clear financial incentive to make the move.
According to Arocho, his monthly income at Radio 47 now ranges between just over Ksh.500,000 and nearly Ksh.1 million, with estimates placing it around Ksh.750,000 to Ksh.800,000. This places him among the top-earning media personalities in the country—a status reflective of his experience and stature in the industry.
