There was drama in Gikandu shopping center Murang’a County after a 23 year old man was caught red-handed stealing a chicken.
Speaking exclusively to Murang’a Newspaper, the owner of the chicken heard noises from the pen and went to check only to find a man inside it with his behind staring at him.
He raised the alarm and neighbors came to the rescue beating the thief to a pulp.Upon interrogation, Anthony Njeru, the suspect said that he was only stealing the chicken to be cooked at his girlfriend’s birthday party tonight.
“Mimi Sina pesa ama job, huyo Ciku wangu anatakanga vitu nyingi na mimi Sina so nikaona acha nichukue kuku ya huyu ndio ipikwe kwa kina Ciku ndio asiniache… Ata kama ni wewe na unampenda mtu, si unaeza fanya chochote ndio aaikuache.. Ilibidi tu,” Njeru defendend himself.
” Sasa juu Corona imeisha tutasumbuliwa na wezi sasa, polisi wangetuachia huyu tudeal na yeye,” commented one irrate resident.
The suspect was taken to the police station and now awaits trial.
Too bad he will miss his Ciku’s birthday.
