Kenyan gospel DJ, Samuel Muraya, widely recognized as DJ Mo, has candidly shared the enchanting tale of his romance with gospel artist and pastor, Linet Munyali, popularly known as Size 8.
During a recent conversation with Oga Obinna, DJ Mo recounted the days of his struggle as a DJ residing in Githurai. While he had crossed paths with Size 8 at various events, he was constrained from approaching her due to his modest circumstances and the presence of affluent suitors vying for her attention.
DJ Mo disclosed that a particular event and a minor slip by his friend Antoneosoul, who couldn’t keep a secret, became the catalyst for his aspiration of capturing the musician’s heart to come to fruition.
The initial encounter, albeit somewhat awkward and embarrassing for DJ Mo, paved the way for a dialogue between him and Size 8. Over time, their interactions deepened, evolving into a budding companionship.
Prior to Size 8’s public declaration of her embrace of Christianity, DJ Mo visited her residence. Despite grappling to gather the requisite dowry of 150k, he was resolute in his determination. He approached her family and formally sought her hand in marriage.
Reflecting on that pivotal moment, DJ Mo shared, “I was on the edge, and had she turned me down, it would have been an immense blow – even if it meant forfeiting everything.”
DJ Mo attributed the realization of their union to Size 8’s late mother, acknowledging her profound influence in shaping their destiny. “Linet’s late mother is the true architect of our marriage,” DJ Mo expressed with heartfelt gratitude.
Furthermore, DJ Mo clarified that the initial dowry payment of 150k adhered to Kikuyu tradition, yet underscored that he has made ongoing contributions over time.
In an earlier interview with a local publication, Size 8 unveiled that prosperous suitors had sought her hand, but upon introducing DJ Mo to her mother, she received a resounding endorsement of his potential as a commendable husband.
