Just hours after Ojwang’s burial, Deputy Inspector General of Police DIG Eliud Lagat is now facing fresh battles linking him to Ojwang’s murder case.
Lagat’s Case now goes international as he is facing a new obstacle due to a petition submitted by an international activist based in London.
According to Saturday’s Standard publication, this London-based activist has initiated a new petition aimed at contesting Lagat’s resignation.
Additionally, the petition challenges Tito’s position as Lagat’s successor as DIG, after stepping down.
The activist asserts that Tito, who serves as Lagat’s assistant secretary, is unqualified to assume the role in Lagat’s absence.
The petition claimed that Lagat personally appointed Tito as his immediate successor through his letter while stepping aside.
This challenges Tito’s competence in the role and raised concerns on why Lagat wanted him to assume the role.
He further stated that both DIG Lagat and Tito are required to address the petition either personally or through their legal representatives.
