Tanzanian singer Diamond Platnumz said he was paid at least Sh129 million (1 million dollars) to perform at a wedding in Mombasa, Kenya.
Platnumz and his team landed in Kenya aboard a private jet after being booked to perform at the said wedding.
The singer used his socials to make public the amount of money he was paid to entertain guests at the lavish wedding.
“$1M For Wedding Show In Mombasa show in Mombasa. Kweli vuma uyaone. Alhamdulillah,” Diamond shared.
The star becomes the first East African singer to be paid over Sh100 million to perform at a wedding.
He was performing at Imran Khosla’s son’s wedding.
The lavish wedding was graced by President William Ruto, CS Aden Duale and Mombasa governor Abdulswamad.
Abdulswamad penned a sweet congratulatory message to Zakir after the wedding.
“It is with immense joy and heartfelt gratitude that I extend my warmest congratulations to my dear friend, Mr. Imran Khosla, on the blessed occasion of the Nikkah of your beloved son, Zakir.
“The sanctity of this union is a testament to the strong values of faith and family that you have instilled in Zakir, and it was a privilege to witness such a momentous milestone celebrated with grace and dignity,” the message said.
He thanked President Ruto and CS Duale for being part of the wedding.
