Comedian Akuku Danger recalls being caught in a ‘mumama’s’ home

Kenyan comedian Akuku Danger, known by his real name Mannerson Oduor Ochieng, shared an intriguing anecdote during an interview with Radio 47’s Billy Miya and Mbaruk Mwalimu on Thursday, April 4.

He reminisced about an incident from his college days when a striking lady approached him after one of his performances at Carnivore Grounds in Nairobi.

“After my show at Carnivore, a lady approached me and expressed her admiration for my performance. She offered to give me a ride in her car since I didn’t have one at the time. I quickly accepted the offer,” recounted the comedian.

Akuku Danger was captivated by her beauty and the luxurious Mercedes Benz she drove. “She was driving a Mercedes, and I was astounded. I had no idea such affluent women existed in Nairobi. She handed me KSh20,000, which was a substantial amount for me at that time, and I felt overwhelmed by the sudden wealth,” he explained.

Upon reaching Lang’ata, he intended to catch a matatu to Rongai but found them all occupied. The lady then suggested he spend the night at her residence in Kilimani and head home the next morning.

However, things took an unexpected turn as they became intimate, and they were nearly caught by the lady’s husband, causing panic for Akuku Danger.

“Suddenly, there was a knock on the door. Before we could respond, she instructed me to quickly put on my clothes and pretend to be asleep. When her husband entered the room and switched on the lights, I greeted him and pretended to be a friend of hers. It was only by divine intervention that I managed to escape that situation unscathed. Although the man seemed upset, perhaps my youthfulness led him to believe nothing untoward had occurred,” he recounted.

Reflecting on the incident, Akuku Danger admitted that it made him more cautious about encounters with similar women in the future.
