Boy Forced to Live in Streets , Relatives Kicked Him Out of Late Father’s Land

A young man from Tala, Machakos County, has been forced to live on the streets after family disputes left him without a place to call home.

Samson Muli, now residing in a makeshift shelter in Kahawa Wendani, Kiambu County, shared his story in a video uploaded by content creator Derrick Mbugua. Muli says he became homeless after being denied access to his late father’s land by relatives following the passing of his parents.

“I lost both my parents at a young age. My brother and I were raised by our grandmother. But after she grew older, other relatives forced us out of our father’s land,” Muli shared.

He explained that returning home is not an option due to threats and hostility. His brother relocated to Mombasa in search of a better life, while Muli stayed behind in Nairobi, where he now struggles to survive.

To earn a living, Muli collects and sells used cartons to scrap dealers. “It’s the only way I can get money for food. I sleep in a kibanda since I can’t afford rent,” he said. Muli also noted that he doesn’t have a phone or an ID card, having left home without any belongings.

Despite the challenges, Muli remains hopeful. “I’m praying for any honest job. I just want to work and improve my life,” he said.

Speaking to TUKO.co.ke, Derrick Mbugua confirmed that no formal support had been organized yet, but he and a friend are working on ways to assist Muli. “We’re trying to find him a safer place to stay. Once we set up a way for people to help, we’ll share it,” Mbugua said.
