Vocal Tharaka Nithi Senator, Kindinki has urged Kenyans to reject the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) calling it a Raila-Uhuru project.
The Senator tabled evidence which he said were ground enough to show that the bill is only meant to waste citizens and their taxes.
Raila, who has been the bills frontliner had earlier said that it’s success will see an increase of money to the county governments from the allocated 15% to 35%.
Kindiki however noted that the disbursement of 15% to the county government is logically impossible seen that the government yet to implement the same.
He added that the national government has only disbursed Ksh 270 billion to the counties and Ksh 100 billion is yet to be allocated noting that the financial year ends this month.
“A few days to the close of the financial year, 14B (out of 40B) of CDF still unremitted; 100B (out of 370B) of funds for counties not yet disbursed. The irony is in the inability to disburse 15% of the Nationally Collected Revenue while promising that it will be possible to disburse 35%,” Kindiki wrote.
