Renowned Tanzanian artist Bahati Bukuku revealed that her marital troubles were exacerbated by a series of miscarriages she experienced. In an interview with Upendo Media, she disclosed that her former husband’s impatience and the influence of external opinions during her challenging times led to the eventual breakdown of their marriage.
Bukuku expressed that her recurrent pregnancies followed by miscarriages created rifts in her relationship, as her ex-husband sought diverse perspectives from others. External advice played a significant role in the deterioration of their union, eventually culminating in divorce. She lamented how outsiders’ counsel played a pivotal role in the dissolution of her marriage.
During this tumultuous period, Bukuku asserted that she went through significant hardships, and some of her most acclaimed songs were borne out of that adversity. Reflecting on her journey, she remarked, “I passed through such a hard time. No one loves stress, but the devil knows that for peace not to exist, there must be challenges.”
Despite having known her ex-husband for an extended period, Bukuku observed a drastic change in his character over time. She disclosed that she encountered him before attaining fame, and he recognized her potential, even financing her music videos. Recounting his supportive gestures, she recalled, “He sponsored my videos. I never lacked money, not even once. At the time, I was naive; I would go for shows and not get paid. I would call him to come pick me up at the airport. Sometimes he would approach a female friend of mine and send her to bring me gifts.”
Bukuku further revealed instances where her ex-husband, despite their differences, exhibited kindness. She acknowledged his positive side, mentioning how he took care of her needs without her knowledge, such as financing her salon sessions when her hair needed attention.
