‎“Aliona mbali sana” Amos Mwago Claims Why Rigathi Gachagua Skipped Raila Odinga’s Requiem Mass

‎Starehe MP Amos Mwago has ignited debate after suggesting that former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua deliberately skipped the late Raila Odinga’s requiem mass at Nyayo Stadium because he foresaw chaos in the event’s organization.

‎Speaking after the ceremony, Mwago said Gachagua “aliona mbele,” meaning he saw ahead, implying that the DP anticipated tension and disrespect that later unfolded.

‎Mwago criticized the manner in which some political figures were treated during the mass, claiming that key Azimio leaders Kalonzo Musyoka and Martha Karua were denied the opportunity to address mourners.

‎He questioned what worse treatment Gachagua would have faced had he attended, hinting that his absence was a calculated decision rather than a snub.

‎“Rigathi Gachagua had seen far beyond what eyes can see,” Mwago remarked, suggesting the DP’s decision to stay away was guided by intuition and political awareness. His words appeared to defend Gachagua against critics who accused him of disrespecting the Odinga family by skipping the high-profile funeral event.

‎The statement has since stirred mixed reactions across social media, with some praising Mwago for his candidness while others accused him of politicizing a solemn occasion.

‎Supporters of Gachagua have echoed Mwago’s sentiments, arguing that the event was mishandled and used to advance selective political narratives.

‎Mwago’s remarks add a new twist to the controversy surrounding the Nyayo Stadium service, which saw growing friction within the opposition ranks.
