Si muongee kitu na mkuwe serious for once

Popular preacher Bishop Kiengei has sharply responded to critics who have been linking him and other church leaders to controversial conspiracy theories.

In a candid statement, the bishop expressed frustration at what he termed as baseless accusations from some Kenyans who claim that certain pastors are involved in secret societies, harvest “mysterious powers,” or “steal stars.” He dismissed the allegations as unfounded and exaggerated.

Kiengei went on to question the seriousness of such claims, pointing out the irony that while some people accuse church leaders of belonging to secret groups, the same individuals are actively adding him to multiple WhatsApp groups meant for fundraising contributions.

“Let’s be serious for once,” he urged, calling on Kenyans to have more meaningful conversations instead of spreading conspiracy theories.

His remarks have sparked mixed reactions online. Supporters defended him, arguing that religious leaders are often unfairly targeted by online speculation. Critics, however, maintained that public figures must be open to scrutiny.

The exchange highlights the growing tension between public personalities and sections of Kenyans who frequently question religious institutions on social media platforms.
