Junet Mohhamed hits back at Babu Owino-Wewe Babu Owino apana tisha watu na NDC, sisi sio watu wa Kutishwa.

Suna East MP Junet Mohamed has fired back at Embakasi East MP Babu Owino, dismissing what he termed as intimidation tactics and threats linked to the upcoming National Delegates Convention (NDC). Speaking defiantly, Junet said ODM leaders and supporters are not people who can be cowed by threats, insisting that intimidation has no place in party democracy.

Junet reminded critics of the sacrifices made by ODM loyalists, saying many have endured arrests and imprisonment while defending party leader Raila Odinga and the party’s ideals. He argued that such experiences have only hardened their resolve, making it impossible for anyone to scare them away from internal party processes or decisions.

He further declared that ODM members would attend the NDC without fear and exercise their democratic right to choose the party’s leadership. According to Junet, the process would go on as planned, and he openly stated that delegates would elect Oburu Odinga as the party’s party leader, regardless of opposition or pressure from rival factions.

The exchange highlights growing tensions within ODM as the party navigates succession politics and internal power struggles. Junet’s remarks signal a firm stance by one faction, emphasizing resilience, loyalty to Raila Odinga, and a determination to shape the party’s future through established democratic structures rather than intimidation.
