Political commentator Casypool has sparked debate online after issuing controversial advice to Ugandan opposition leader Bobi Wine.
Speaking in a viral clip, Casypool claimed he was addressing Bobi Wine on behalf of Kenyans, urging him to abandon confrontation with the Ugandan government and instead submit to President Yoweri Museveni’s authority.
“On behalf of Kenyans, I want to advise Bobi Wine to submit under the authority of President Museveni and beg for forgiveness,” Casypool said.
He further suggested that Bobi Wine should seek favour from Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, Museveni’s son and Uganda’s Chief of Defence Forces, and align himself with the ruling establishment.
“Go to Muhoozi, live under his mercy, and beg him to appoint you as Prime Minister in his government once Museveni retires,” he added.
Casypool’s remarks have triggered mixed reactions on social media, with critics accusing him of promoting political submission and undermining democratic opposition, while supporters argue he was offering pragmatic advice aimed at reducing political tension in Uganda.
The comments come at a time of heightened political pressure on Bobi Wine and his supporters, as debates continue over Uganda’s political succession and the role of opposition figures in the country’s future leadership.
