President William Ruto has issued a pointed warning to opposition leaders, singling out Kalonzo Musyoka and his allies in a recent public address. The President criticized their political track record, claiming that for years they have been active in politics without achieving meaningful results.
Addressing his critics, Ruto said that opposition figures have repeatedly accused him of not speaking the truth. In response, he asserted that he has laid out the facts clearly, emphasizing that their years in politics have yielded little of substance.
“Hawa akina Kalonzo wamekuwa wakisema mimi siongei ukweli. Juzi nimewaambia ukweli kwamba kwa miaka yote wamekuwa kwa siasa hakuna kitu cha maana wamefanya,” President Ruto stated. He added that even personal insults from the opposition are minor in comparison to the reality of their political record.
The President warned that when political challenges arise, he is ready to confront them directly. “Hiyo hata ni kionjo, ngonjeni wakati wa siasa ukifika nikunje shati tumenyane, mtakimbia,” he said, signaling a readiness to hold his opponents accountable in the political arena.
Ruto’s remarks underscore his continued criticism of opposition leadership, framing the political debate as one between action and rhetoric. The comments are likely to fuel further debate on accountability, political achievements, and leadership credibility ahead of upcoming electoral cycles.
