Alfred Keter warns Ruto-The congratulatory messages you are sending Samia Suluhu are your own, don’t involve us, you no longer speak on behalf of the people, you lost your legitimacy last year June!

Former Nandi Hills Member of Parliament Alfred Keter has once again stirred the political scene after issuing a bold warning to President William Ruto regarding his congratulatory messages to Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan.

Keter, known for his outspoken and fearless nature, criticized President Ruto for sending congratulatory messages to President Suluhu, saying that such statements do not represent the views of the Kenyan people. According to Keter, Ruto’s messages are personal opinions and not national sentiments.

In a strongly worded statement, Keter declared that the President had “lost his legitimacy” long ago, alleging that he no longer speaks on behalf of ordinary citizens. He claimed that Ruto’s leadership lost its moral and political authority as early as June last year, and therefore, any international communication from him should be treated as an individual act rather than a national position.

“The congratulatory messages you are sending Samia Suluhu are your own. Don’t involve us. You no longer speak on behalf of the people — you lost your legitimacy last year June,” Keter stated.

Keter’s comments come at a time when political tension in the region remains high following Tanzania’s transition of power and President Suluhu’s growing influence across East Africa. His remarks have also reignited debate among Kenyans about the current administration’s standing, both locally and internationally.

Many Kenyans on social media reacted differently to Keter’s statement. Some supported his boldness, saying he was only voicing what many citizens silently believe, while others accused him of being disrespectful to the head of state and trying to remain relevant in the political scene.

Regardless of the divided opinions, Keter’s warning has once again positioned him as one of the few politicians unafraid to confront the highest office in the land. His latest outburst underscores the deepening divisions within Kenya’s political landscape, especially among those who once supported Ruto but now question his leadership and legitimacy.
