“Ni Uchungu Sana” Kisii Family In tears as University of Eldoret Student Found Murdered Days Before Graduation , Body Dumped Roadside

A somber mood has engulfed a family in Kisii County after their son, a final-year student at the University of Eldoret (UoE), was found dead just days before his graduation.

The young man, identified by close friends as a student pursuing a degree in Environmental Science, reportedly went missing on Tuesday evening after attending a group discussion with classmates. His phone went off shortly after, and when he failed to return home, his worried family raised an alarm.

The following morning, residents made a horrifying discovery along the Kisii–Kilgoris road — the lifeless body of the student, bearing multiple stab wounds. Police officers who arrived at the scene said the victim appeared to have been tortured before being killed, with his identification documents and phone missing.

Family members described the deceased as a humble and disciplined young man, whose future had looked bright. His devastated father broke down in tears, saying the family had been eagerly waiting for his graduation ceremony in just two weeks’ time.

“He was our pride and the first in our family to reach university level. We were counting the days to celebrate his success. Now we are planning for his burial instead,” the grieving father said.

Friends and classmates at the University of Eldoret expressed shock and disbelief, describing him as a hardworking and dedicated student who was passionate about his studies. The university administration also sent condolences to the bereaved family, pledging to offer support during this difficult time.

Police in Kisii have launched investigations into the brutal killing and are pursuing several leads, including phone records and the last people seen with the deceased. The body was taken to the Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital mortuary for a post-mortem examination.

Residents have since called on authorities to act swiftly and bring the killers to justice, as cases of mysterious murders continue to rise in the region.
