Kenyans were left in shock after a disturbing video surfaced online showing a female police officer being assaulted by civilians along Kikuyu Road.
The clip, which spread rapidly across social media, captured a heated altercation that spiraled into violence, causing panic and even a traffic snarl-up on the busy road.
In the footage, the officer is seen struggling with several civilians before breaking down in tears. At one point, a woman is spotted dragging a man away from the scene as the officer wails in pain. Moments later, she grabs a projectile from the ground and attempts to chase her attackers, only for onlookers to step in and restrain her to avoid further escalation.
The incident has put the National Police Service (NPS) under the spotlight, with many questioning the fragile relationship between law enforcement and the public.
Kileleshwa MCA Robert Alai, who shared the clip on X (formerly Twitter), condemned the attack and urged Kenyans to respect police officers, warning that assaulting them undermines their authority and weakens democracy.
His post triggered a heated online debate. Some users echoed his sentiments, calling for mutual respect between police and citizens, while others accused the police of abusing their power and argued that frustration with impunity often pushes civilians to the edge.
The video has since continued to spark outrage and mixed reactions, with Kenyans demanding answers on what really led to the violent confrontation.
