Woman In Hospital After Husband Poured boiling Water On Her MJULUS

A middle-aged woman finds herself admitted to Naivasha Level 4 Hospital following a harrowing incident in Kayole Estate. The perpetrator, her estranged husband and former AP officer now employed by the Nakuru County government, subjected her to a brutal assault. Boiling water was recklessly thrown at her, and a knife was used to stab her abdomen, leaving her internal organs exposed, while her back bore the scars of burns.

Pauline Wanjiku, the victim, recounted the traumatic events from her hospital bed, detailing how her intoxicated husband, without any apparent provocation, unleashed the violent attack. Fortunately, neighbors intervened and rescued her from further harm. However, the assailant managed to escape, despite also seeking medical attention at the same hospital.

Wanjiku expressed her fear and apprehension about the whereabouts of her estranged husband. Peter Njihia, the victim’s brother, described the suspect as an extremely dangerous individual, particularly when under the influence of alcohol, highlighting a history of past arrests.

The gravity of the situation is underscored by John Kinuthia of the Naivasha Gender Based Networking Cluster, who reports that there have been over ten cases of gender violence recorded since the beginning of the year. This disturbing trend emphasizes the urgent need for intervention and support for victims in order to address and curtail the prevalence of such incidents in the community.
