Controversial Kenyan TikToker Rose Atieno, widely known as Nyako, is reaching out to her fanbase for financial assistance following the suspension of her PayPal account.
The content creator, currently residing in Germany, took to her TikTok platform to share her predicament, revealing that her rent was imminent, and she faced challenges accessing her bank accounts, leaving her unable to meet her financial obligations.
Nyako explained that she was unable to access her TikTok earnings due to a complaint lodged by an anonymous user, identified only as ‘Absolute,’ which led to the suspension of her PayPal account. She expressed frustration, stating, “I had some money from TikTok on my PayPal account, and I wanted to transfer the money so I could pay my rent tomorrow, but my PayPal account is in the negative. My TikTok money is gone.”
She emphasized that TikTok was her sole source of income since losing her corporate job, and the situation had left her in dire straits. When she contacted her bank to resolve the issue, she was informed of a conflict arising from a complaint filed against her by ‘Absolute,’ who had also reported the matter to the German government. Nyako found herself owing PayPal 1,500 Euros (Ksh249,672).
In her plea for financial aid, Nyako highlighted that she had often assisted others in need and believed it was fair to seek help when facing difficulties herself. Expressing her desperation, she stated, “I am flat broke with no way to fend for my children and pay rent.”
Nyako announced her intention to share her PayPal account information, inviting those willing to support her financially to contribute as they saw fit. She assured her followers that she would return later to receive their assistance, enabling her to settle the outstanding PayPal balance and regain financial stability. Her goal was to pay off the debt, cover her rent, and actively pursue new contracts to secure her financial future on TikTok.
