Ibrahim Onami: KFC Is For Homeless And Broke People In Amerika

Ibrahim Onami, a Kenyan content creator currently residing in the United States, has dismissed the buzz surrounding KFC outlets in Kenya. In a recent YouTube video, Onami humorously recounted his experience when he was back in Kenya, rejecting his friends’ suggestion to visit the popular fast-food chain.

Onami suggested to his friends that the KFC hype in Kenya stands in stark contrast to the perception in the United States. According to him, in America, KFC is often associated with lower-income individuals, the homeless, or those facing financial challenges—referred to humorously in Kenya as “chokosh.”

To substantiate his claims, Onami recorded a video during his stay in the US, visiting one of the KFC outlets. True to his assertions, the restaurant appeared quiet and almost deserted, with no customers seated and only two cars in the parking lot.

Pointing to the emptiness around him, Onami remarked, “You can see there are no customers, and the parking lot is almost unoccupied.”

During his visit, Onami ordered a chicken sandwich served with French fries, paying a mere 8 dollars for the meal.

In another video, Onami shed light on the challenges faced by homeless individuals in Minneapolis during the winter season. Documenting their plight, he showcased small tents covered in snow, illustrating the difficult living conditions. One person he interviewed, Alexa, expressed her desperate need for improved shelter, food, and a sleeping bag. Touched by her situation, Onami went to a nearby restaurant, bought her coffee with doughnuts, and pledged to find a sleeping bag for her.

Prior to these experiences, Onami disclosed that he had briefly worked in the US cremating bodies, earning up to $70 per hour. However, he decided to quit the job after just one day.
