‘2027 kama Ruto atataka kura za ODM lazima tukae chini tuone tutapata nini kutoka kwa serikali yake. Hakuna kura za Bure,” Governor Gladys Wanga tells Ruto

Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga has sent a firm message to President William Ruto ahead of the 2027 General Election, insisting that ODM support cannot be taken for granted. Speaking during a public address, Wanga stated that if President Ruto intends to seek votes from the ODM party, there must first be meaningful engagement and clear benefits for the party and its supporters.

Wanga emphasized that political support is transactional and must be based on tangible outcomes, not promises. She made it clear that ODM would only back the government if there is a deliberate conversation on what the party and its constituents stand to gain.

“There are no free votes,” Wanga declared, underscoring that ODM’s backing must be earned through accountability, inclusion, and development. Her remarks signal a tougher bargaining position by the party as political alignments ahead of 2027 begin to take shape.

The governor’s comments have already sparked debate, with supporters praising her firmness while critics accuse ODM of turning politics into negotiations for power and influence.
