“You give birth to disabled kids because you’ve not paid dowry” – Pastor Nganga lectures men

Pastor James Maina Ng’ang’a, the leader of Neno Evangelism, strongly opposes the practice of ‘come we stay’ marriages among men who neglect the cultural tradition of paying dowry. He recently addressed this issue in a video featured on SASA TV’s TikTok channel, highlighting the potential hardships faced by children born from such unions.

In his impassioned lecture, Pastor Ng’ang’a expressed frustration with individuals who refuse to fulfill the dowry obligation for their partners. He emphasized that these actions contradict their claims of praising God and being religious. According to him, such people are deceivers, lacking the sense of responsibility expected in a committed relationship.

The pastor pointed out that ‘come-we-stay’ relationships often involve a woman leaving her education to be with a man who has abandoned his family, leading to the birth of wayward offspring. He attributed these negative consequences to the absence of proper religious practices, noting that these parents do not attend church services regularly.

Drawing from biblical examples, Pastor Ng’ang’a cited the story of Jacob, who toiled for fourteen years to meet the conditions set by Laban to marry his wives Leah and Rachel. He highlighted how Jacob did not take Laban’s children without fulfilling his obligations, stressing the importance of respecting cultural norms.

In conclusion, Pastor Ng’ang’a firmly stated that he would never condone or accept sharing the same fate with those who neglect their responsibilities in relationships and marriages. His message serves as a reminder of the significance of upholding cultural traditions and religious values in creating healthy and responsible families.
