Pastor Sue Munene, popularly known as the ‘Twa Twa’ pastor, has opened up about how she supported her husband during a financially difficult time when he wanted to marry her.
In an interview with TV47, Pastor Sue revealed that elders had demanded a dowry of Ksh.750,000. However, at that time, her husband, Munene, was struggling financially and only had Ksh.50,000. Despite the situation, Pastor Sue saw his genuine intentions and decided to help him.
She boldly stood up during the negotiations and appealed to both the elders and Munene’s parents to accept the Ksh.50,000 he had. She explained that Munene was a good man but was currently unable to raise the full amount. She added that taking a loan to cover the remaining Ksh.700,000 would mean starting their marriage in debt.
Her heartfelt appeal moved the elders, and they agreed to accept the Ksh.50,000 and allowed Munene to pay the rest in installments. Interestingly, Sue mentioned that in their culture, paying the full dowry at once is considered disrespectful.
Looking back, Pastor Sue said her decision to support her husband was worth it. The couple has now been happily married for over 20 years and continues to enjoy a peaceful relationship.
