Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza remains resolute despite facing an impeachment motion in the Senate. On Wednesday, August 15, senators decided to use the plenary session to investigate the allegations made against Kawira by the Meru MCAs. The following day, Kawira turned to the Bible, expressing her unwavering faith that she would be protected and defended by God.
Without citing a specific Bible verse, Kawira stated, “Today, God will be your defender and protector. He will shield you from all conspiracies and guard you against the enemy’s attacks. Your life will be safeguarded by the blood of Jesus.” She further proclaimed that God would ensure the downfall of those plotting against her, asserting, “You will witness the collapse of anyone who wishes you harm. Your life will shine brightly like the sun by day and the moon by night. No evil force can overshadow your glory, just as the sun and moon cannot be obscured.”
In related news, Narok Senator Ledama Olekina highlighted the intense pressure senators are facing regarding the impeachment motion against the Meru governor. On Wednesday, August 14, Olekina disclosed that Meru residents had sent him KSh 300 to underscore the gravity of the impeachment motion against Kawira. He emphasized that the Senate functions as a jury in such proceedings.
