Celebrated journalist Mary Kilobi has finally opened up about her path to motherhood, revealing why she chose to keep her pregnancy private.
In an interview with Daily Nation, the 40-year-old explained that her decision was deeply personal, aimed at safeguarding her experience from public scrutiny.
“This journey was ours alone. We wanted to protect it from outside noise and speculation,” Kilobi stated.
She also dismissed speculation that she took a career break due to her pregnancy.
“I went on sabbatical in June, but it had nothing to do with this. I just needed time away from the public eye. Right now, I’m on maternity leave, but I’ll be back soon,” she clarified.
After years of waiting, Kilobi finally welcomed a baby boy, naming him Atwoli Junior after his father. She expressed immense gratitude, emphasizing that her conception happened naturally.
“This is something I have always longed for, and I’m deeply grateful,” she said.
