KeNHA closes Mai Mahiu-Narok Road due to siltation, debris

The Mai Mahiu – Narok Road has been temporarily closed by the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA). This decision comes in response to the unexpected accumulation of silt and heavy debris along a one-kilometer section at Suswa area, occurring on the evening of Monday, April 29.

Located approximately 27 kilometers from Mai Mahiu town en route to Narok town, Suswa is the specific area affected by the siltation. KeNHA has mobilized its contractor to address the situation promptly.

The ongoing clearing operations are expected to continue throughout the night. KeNHA emphasizes that the closure is necessary to facilitate the safe removal of the siltation and mitigate potential risks such as vehicles becoming stranded or other hazardous incidents.
