Wiper Patriotic Front leader Kalonzo Musyoka has called for an investigation into claims that Ugandan nationals are being issued with Kenyan identification documents ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Kalonzo made the remarks on Sunday, September 13, 2026, while speaking in Hola, Tana River County.

The former Vice President claimed that an operation could be taking place around the Kenya-Uganda border involving the alleged issuance of Kenyan IDs to foreign nationals.

He questioned whether the documents were being issued to allow Ugandans to participate in Kenya’s next general election.

Kalonzo urged the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to investigate the claims and establish whether there was any illegal registration of foreign nationals as Kenyan voters.

He linked the alleged activity to political calculations ahead of the 2027 election and questioned whether the process could benefit President William Ruto’s re-election campaign.

The allegations come at a time when political parties and leaders are increasingly focusing on voter registration and electoral preparedness ahead of the next general election.

Kalonzo said the matter should be investigated because the integrity of Kenya’s electoral process must be protected.

The Wiper leader has been campaigning with other opposition figures as political alliances continue to take shape ahead of the 2027 polls.

His remarks in Hola came during a tour of Tana River alongside other opposition leaders.
