Rajab Ibrahim, popularly known as Harmonize, has boldly proclaimed himself as the best lyricist in Tanzania. The acclaimed artist asserts that no one in the Tanzanian music scene can rival his ability to compose captivating lyrics. He further claims to be the only Tanzanian artist to have successfully produced a hit song in English.
“Since the birth of Bongo Flava, no artist has ever created an English song that became a hit without fumbling. No one comes close to me, even in conversation,” the Konde Gang founder declared.
Moving Beyond Bongo Flava
Harmonize emphasized that he should no longer be classified as a Bongo Flava artist, stating that he has surpassed the genre and carved out a significant name in the entertainment industry.
“I rejected the label of Bongo Flava artist months ago. Some writers need more proof. There’s no one I can stand against pen-to-pen, and the ink will match,” he remarked.
Ambitions for a Grammy
The singer confidently revealed his ambition to win a Grammy Award by 2025. “No artist with an album from this generation, or even looking back 20 years, can match me. I will take Tanzanian music to another level in 2025 by bagging the Grammy,” Harmonize stated.
Five Hit Albums and a Unique Legacy
Harmonize highlighted his exceptional status in the Tanzanian music industry, boasting five hit albums over the past two decades. Recently, he criticized fellow artist Diamond Platnumz for failing to secure a Grammy nomination in 2024 for the song Komasava.
Harmonize claimed the Grammy Awards demand more than songs like Komasava and reiterated his promise to win the prestigious award in 2025 or 2026.
With such strong convictions and ambitious goals, Harmonize continues to position himself as a standout artist not just in Tanzania, but on the global stage.
