A mother of a 15-year-old girl from Kitale has been left in shock after her daughter offered to sell her kidney so as to get money to join Form One.
The girl identified as Marriet Achieng from Kipsongo slums managed to score a whopping 404 marks but has failed to raise money to join St. Mary’s High School in Bomet.
She did her KCPE at Chetoto primary school and has offered to sell her kidney saying that it is the only way since her family is not able to raise the cash.
I have no other options on how to raise school fees. What is at my disposal right now is my kidney,
Achieng’ said.
She revealed to a local daily that she is already looking for a willing buyer and ready to go through the surgery.
I’m not worried about the procedure of removing it. My interest is to see that I get my secondary education school fees,
she added.
Her mother, Joyce Achieng’ said that she is worried about her daughter saying that there are other ways to o sponsored by willing Kenyans.
