Meru County Governor Kawira Mwangaza has shared five captivating photos with Kenyans, adding a touch of warmth to the online space. This picturesque display comes in the wake of her recent triumph over an impeachment attempt.
Following an exhaustive investigation by an 11-member committee, led by Senator Boni Khalwale, the Senate ruled on December 30th, acquitting Governor Mwangaza due to a lack of evidence supporting the charges against her.
One contentious issue that fueled public debate was the alleged improper appointment of her husband, Murega Baichu, to County offices. Mwangaza refuted the accusations, asserting that she had appointed him solely to lead her OKOLEA foundation.
Murega Baichu, a skilled guitarist, played a pivotal role in Governor Kawira’s campaign, joining her on numerous tours across Meru County. His musical influence resonated strongly with the public, though it drew criticism from some Members of the County Assembly and citizens who viewed him as a source of the governor’s challenges.
