Raila Odinga was not just a man — he was a spirit, a movement, and a force of unity that touched millions of Kenyans. His influence stretched far beyond politics, and even in death, his ability to bring people together remains unmatched.
Emotional and determined crowds gathered at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) to receive the body of the late former Prime Minister. The scene quickly turned dramatic as thousands of mourners breached security and gained access to the Kenya Airways flight carrying Raila’s remains.
From there, they began an emotional procession on foot, escorting the casket all the way towards Kasarani Stadium. Viral photos and videos shared online show massive crowds stretching from Globe Roundabout in Nairobi’s CBD all the way to Kasarani, waving flags, singing liberation songs, and chanting Raila’s name.
Due to the overwhelming number of mourners, authorities have confirmed that the public body viewing will take place at Kasarani Stadium instead of Parliament, to accommodate the large turnout.
The emotional scenes are a powerful reminder that Raila Odinga’s spirit lives on in the hearts of millions of Kenyans who saw him not just as a leader, but as a symbol of hope, resilience, and freedom.
