“Mark my words Kenyans! The broad-based government will get over 80% of Kenya’s votes come 2027!”-Kimani Ichungwah

National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah has expressed strong confidence that the newly formed broad-based government led by President William Ruto and ODM leader Raila Odinga will dominate the 2027 general elections.

Speaking during a political gathering in Central Kenya, Ichung’wah boldly predicted that the unity between the Kenya Kwanza administration and the Azimio coalition will reshape the country’s political landscape, making it nearly impossible for any opposition to challenge them.

“Mark my words, Kenyans! The broad-based government that was formed by President Ruto and Raila Odinga will get over 80% of Kenya’s votes come 2027!” declared Ichung’wah, as the crowd cheered.

The Kikuyu MP said the partnership between Ruto and Raila has united previously divided political bases, describing it as “a new dawn” for Kenya’s stability and development. He claimed that the two leaders’ decision to work together was not only about politics but also about peace, inclusivity, and national growth.

Ichung’wah further stated that critics of the Ruto–Raila alliance were “living in denial,” insisting that most Kenyans have already embraced the idea of unity and cooperation between former rivals.

“This is not about UDA or ODM anymore — it’s about Kenya. We are showing the world that our leaders can put aside differences for the sake of the people,” he said.

The Majority Leader also took a swipe at opposition politicians still resisting the new political formation, urging them to “wake up to reality” and accept that Kenyans are ready for a unified future.

“The political noise will not stop the movement of progress. Those who refuse to join us will be left behind when the country moves forward as one,” he added.

Ichung’wah’s remarks come amid growing speculation that the Ruto–Raila collaboration could lead to a major realignment in Kenya’s political space, with talk of a possible power-sharing arrangement or new coalition being formalized ahead of 2027.

Political analysts say his statement signals the government’s strategy to portray the unity between Ruto and Raila as an unstoppable force, likely to weaken opposition influence and consolidate voter support across the country.

While some Kenyans have welcomed the idea of national unity, others remain skeptical, viewing the alliance as a political deal meant to secure power rather than serve the interests of ordinary citizens.
