A Zimbabwean man, identified as William Masvinu has been banned from competing again after winning for the fifth time in a row.
William Masvinu has won the Mr Ugly competition five times in Zimbabwe. He said he is proud of his ugliness, and wants to be take it to the international level.
The organiser said he wants ugly people to have the same opportunities as beautiful people. The winner of the competition receives $500 and a cow.
The 48-year-old man who has been holding the title of Mr. Ugly for winning the annual Mr. Ugly competition, expressed his joy as he won again for the fifth time.
The organizers of the competition described the contest as a platform to offer “ugly” individuals the same opportunities as their “more traditionally attractive” counterparts.
The winner, William Masvinu won against four other contestants to claim the top prize of $500 and a cow.
While expressing his joy after winning for the fifth time, Mr. Ugly winner, stated, “I am undoubtedly the ugliest person in Zimbabwe, and I’m ready to take my talents to the world stage.”
However, William Masvinu has been barred from contesting again by the organizers. According to the organizers of the show, they want to allow others to contest and win as well, hence their decision to ban the current winner from contesting again.
