Doris Elizabeth Chepkorir Moi is not very famous among Kenyans despite her dad Mzee Daniel Arap Moi ruling the country for 24 years as President.
Doris was a twin sister to Philip Moi who stayed away from the limelight despite Mzee Moi being the President of Kenya.
How Doris Moi defied her Dad Mzee Moi to marry her brother’s close ally
According to Kenyans.co.ke, Doris Moi seemingly once defied her father’s wishes of not marrying her brother’s best friend Ibrahim Kiptum Choge.
Ibrahim Kiptum together with Doris’ sibling Jonathan Moi were co-drivers at the Safari rally.
Doris Moi seemingly fell in love with Ibrahim Choge who was the son of a former cabinet minister (Simeon Kiptum Choge) in the late Mzee Daniel Arap Moi’s government.
Despite Doris Moi loving Ibrahim, her father (Mzee Moi) did not approve their relationship and he didn’t even want them to marry.
However Doris Moi took the bulls by its own horns and went on to marry the love of her life in what happens to be against her father’s preference.
Doris Moi and Ibrahim Kiptum marriage
Later, Doris Moi together with her husband would relocate to Kaimosi in Nandi county.
While staying there, the two owned one of the biggest tea farms in the region where they practiced tea planting.
Ibrahim Kiptum Choge death
However, after years staying together, Doris Moi husband passed away after being involved in a car accident.
The death of Ibrahim Kiptum led his father to claim that it was stage-managed.
He even promised to award 500k to anyone who had information about the death of his son.
