Four Men arrested for gang raping 17-year-old girl beating 2 boys who were escorting her

Police have arrested four suspects in connection with the alleged gang raping of a 17-year-old girl and the assault of two male friends who were escorting her home from a disco on June 9, 2024, at around 3 a.m.

The victim and her friends had left the disco when they were attacked by a group of men who assaulted the boys and chased them, leaving the girl behind. The suspects then grabbed the victim and took her to the house of their accomplice, where they allegedly gang-raped her.

The Ugandan Police responded swiftly after receiving a complaint from one of the victim’s male friends and arrested the four suspects red-handed, gang raping the victim.

The victim was rushed to Aboke Hospital for post-rape treatment. The police are treating the matter as a priority and are pursuing all leads, including DNA and other scientific tests, against the samples taken from the victim and suspects.

Efforts are underway to trace Okot, the owner of the house, and other accomplices.

Police have assured the public that they are doing everything in their power to bring the perpetrators to justice and provide support to the victim and her family during this difficult time.
