A Kenyan lady has caused a stir online after alleging that former Defence Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa left her to pay a KSh 33,000 hotel bill after their meeting went wrong.
According to the woman, she had accompanied Wamalwa to a high-end hotel where they shared a meal and drinks. However, when it was time to settle the bill, the politician allegedly excused himself, leaving her stranded and embarrassed.
“Eugene Wamalwa aliniacha hoteli na bill ya 33k, nililazimishwa nikalipa hiyo bill. Sikuizi nikimuona anatetea wanyonge naskia vibaya sana!” the lady claimed.
She further accused Wamalwa of pretending to be a champion for the poor while allegedly mistreating people in private. Her revelation quickly spread on social media, drawing mixed reactions from Kenyans.
Some users sympathized with the woman, saying no one deserves to be humiliated that way, while others dismissed the claims, arguing that she might be chasing clout or exaggerating the story for attention.
Wamalwa, who has been an active voice in opposition politics and a vocal critic of the government, has not yet responded to the allegations.
The viral story has once again highlighted the risks of unverified online claims involving public figures, as social media users continue to debate who between the two was truly at fault in the so-called “Fuliza date.”
