A touching video showing a Mexican police officer breastfeeding a hungry 4-month-old baby has moved many people online, with her act of kindness earning her recognition from authorities.
The officer, identified as Arizbeth Dionisio Ambrosio, was reportedly promoted after stepping in to help the starving infant during a difficult period in Mexico. Watch Video
According to reports, Hurricane Otis, a powerful Category 5 storm, had hit Acapulco, causing widespread destruction and shortages of essential supplies, including food and baby formula.
Ambrosio, a mother of two who was still breastfeeding her own child, had been deployed to the affected area to assist with relief operations and debris-clearing activities.
While carrying out her duties, the officer reportedly heard a baby crying. She approached the child’s distressed mother, who explained that her 4-month-old son had gone nearly 48 hours without food because she could not find any baby formula.
After receiving permission from the mother, Ambrosio decided to breastfeed the infant. The baby reportedly calmed down immediately after being fed.
A photograph capturing the emotional moment was later shared widely on social media, attracting praise from people who described the officer’s actions as a powerful demonstration of compassion and humanity.
Following the incident, Mexican police authorities reportedly recognized Ambrosio’s selfless act by promoting her from Policía Primero to Suboficial.
She was also commended for demonstrating exceptional humanism and compassion while serving in a challenging environment.
