The Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) has announced nomination and registration fees for candidates seeking to contest various elective positions on its ticket in the 2027 General Election.

According to the party’s guidelines, MCA aspirants will pay KSh5,000 to register, while youth and persons with disabilities (PWDs) will pay a reduced fee of KSh2,500.

Those seeking to contest for Member of Parliament, Woman Representative or Senator positions will each pay KSh10,000. Youth and PWD aspirants in these categories will pay KSh5,000.

Gubernatorial aspirants will pay the highest standard fee of KSh50,000, while youth and PWD candidates seeking governor positions will pay KSh25,000.

The party has opened the registration process as it begins preparations to identify and organise candidates ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Aspirants are required to make the payment through the party’s designated payment channel before submitting their personal and electoral details.

Applicants must provide information including their names, national identification numbers, phone numbers, county, constituency and ward, as well as the position they intend to contest.

The announcement comes as DCP continues expanding its political activities across the country ahead of the 2027 polls.

The party has previously said it intends to field candidates across all 47 counties, targeting seats at both the national and county levels.

DCP leader Rigathi Gachagua has outlined an ambitious target for the party, including winning several gubernatorial and parliamentary seats while building a strong presence in county assemblies.

The new fee structure gives potential candidates an opportunity to begin the process of seeking the party’s ticket well ahead of the election.

With political parties already positioning themselves for 2027, the DCP registration exercise marks another step in the party’s efforts to strengthen its grassroots structures and attract candidates across the country.
