Police in Moyale, located in Marsabit County, have apprehended a woman found in possession of 3.9 kilograms of cocaine, valued at over KSh15 million on the street.
Based on actionable intelligence, law enforcement officers apprehended Viviane Achieng Okello with the illicit substance at the Moyale One-Stop Border Point. Okello was intercepted while en route from Ethiopia to Kenya.
According to a police report, vigilant officers noticed Okello acting suspiciously, tightly holding onto her suitcase. Upon interrogation, she displayed behaviors indicative of the need for further investigation. Subsequently, Okello was escorted to the Moyale Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) office, where a comprehensive search was conducted.
During the search, the cocaine was found concealed in two smaller bags within her toiletry items. Additionally, authorities discovered USD 700 concealed within the inner soles of her shoes. Legal procedures have since been initiated in response to the incident.
