Blogger Robert Alai caused blended reaction on Twitter after he shared a photograph of eminent Swahili anchor Fridah Mwaka reading the 7 PM bulletin and accused her for dressing indecently.
The anchor was in tight jeans that exposed her curves to the viewers, provoking Alai to respond.
“Uchi wa mnyama. Shame. We wanted news not curves. Right display for the wrong place,” Alai posted.
His tweet caused a an uproar among his followers
A portion of his followers went along with him in condeming the anchor for exposing her curves on public TV while others felt that she was appropriately dressed.
“Our kids are watching and we want to see people who are decent,” a Twitter user commented.
“I am not hating but it was too much,” another one added.
Another Twitter follower asked Fridah Mwaka to follow in the strides of Victoria Rubadiri and Yvonne Okwara on the grounds that they are always decently dressed
