Tottenham in pole position to sign €40m-rated Arsenal and Chelsea target

Tottenham Hotspur seems poised to secure the services of Alessandro Buongiorno from Torino as the current season draws to a close.

According to a report by Fichajes, they are leading the race to acquire the 24-year-old Italian defender, albeit at a price tag of €40 million.

However, Tottenham is not alone in their pursuit of Buongiorno, as fellow English clubs Arsenal and Chelsea are also expressing interest.

Manager Ange Postecoglou of Tottenham has openly acknowledged the team’s requirement for another central defender, indicating Buongiorno as an ideal candidate. With players like Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven already in the mix, Buongiorno could bolster the defensive lineup and provide healthy competition for starting positions. His addition would afford Postecoglou more flexibility in squad rotation, a crucial aspect especially if Tottenham secures a spot in the UEFA Champions League next season.

Buongiorno has already showcased his talent in the Italian league, and he appears eager to demonstrate his abilities in the English Premier League. While the reported €40 million fee may seem hefty, it could prove to be a wise investment should Buongiorno swiftly adapt to English football and realize his potential in the seasons to come.
