This Shopping Bag Was Minding Its Business, Then Meru Villagers Called KWS Over A ‘Lion’

A Carrefour shopping bag has allegedly sent residents of the Kiangua area in Imenti South, Meru County into a furor over fears of a big cat in their neighborhood.

Photographs shared online by Twitter users @AKenyanGirl on Thursday show the bag, with its unmistakable lion face branding, concealed under a leafy bush.

In the bag are avocado seedlings which give it bag a ‘filled up’ look, making it simple to pass for a lion’s head peeping from under the bush.

After spotting the ‘dangerous feline’ within their area, the story goes that they quickly called the Kenya Wildlife Services (KWS) officers to take it away.
