According to a source at Sabina’s camp, the Murang’a County Women Rep is said to have met with Governor Mwangi Wa Iria where the main agenda was on how they will get the presidency.
Previously, Sabina and Wa Iria had held a closed door meeting earlier this year where it is said that Mwangi Wa Iria was trying to woo Chege into joining his CRP Party.
Details of their earlier meeting were however not disclosed with speculations being that the two came to an amicable decision.
The source revealed that Sabina who is seeking Wa Iria’s backing into her Gubernatorial ambitions but Wa Iria seems to have other plans which is to make her his deputy running mate.
“Sabina and Mwangi held a meeting and it’s only us from her side and a select few on Wa Iria’s side were present. Wa Iria wants to make Her his deputy but she seems conflicted on whether to take the offer or just push through with her ambitions to be the next Murang’a Governor,” the source said.
Whether Sabina will take Wa Iria’s offer remains a thing to watch and see.
Notably, Ndindi Nyoro has also expressed his interest in the Murang’a Gubernatorial position.
Murang’a County Gubernatorial Position remains on of the hotly contested seat with political bigwigs like Irungu Kang’ata expressing their interests in the same seat.
