A promising 26-year-old student has tragically died shortly after travelling to China to pursue her master’s degree, leaving her family, friends and former classmates heartbroken.
The student, identified as Mercy Yaaba Bredu, was reportedly a first-class graduate who had travelled to China in search of further education and new opportunities. At the time, nobody expected that the farewell would become the last time many of her loved ones would see her alive.
Reports indicate that Mercy experienced heart pain during the flight, raising concern about her condition. After the plane landed in China, she was received at the airport with flowers as she began what was supposed to be an exciting new chapter in her life.
However, the situation reportedly changed suddenly when she collapsed at the airport.
She was rushed to a nearby hospital, where medical professionals attempted to stabilise her.
Sadly, their efforts were unsuccessful, and she passed away on Wednesday, August 26, just 48 hours after leaving home to pursue her studies abroad.
News of her sudden death has left former colleagues, classmates and fellow students struggling to understand how a young woman with such promising academic and leadership achievements could lose her life so unexpectedly.
A photo showing Mercy at the airport has since emerged alongside a video capturing the heartbreaking moment, attracting emotional reactions from people mourning her death.
Her journey to China had been filled with hope and ambition, but it ended in tragedy only two days after she left home.
