Former Prime Minister and ODM Party leader, Raila Odinga has recieved a rare blessing from the late freedom fighter, Dedan Kimathi’s wife, Mukami Kimathi.
Raila who had visited the home of Kimathi said that Mukami played a vital role in the conquest of independence.
Mukami blessed Odinga praying for him to win the presidency come 2022 General Elections in.
“She was detained together with other wives of freedom fighters. She is a freedom fighter like others,” Raila said.
Odinga also went on to ask the government to come up with plans aimed at helping the freedom fighters live a better life.
Notably, Raila has already petitioned the British Government to issue an apology and compensate the descendants of Mau Mau fighters.
He also said that his visit to Mukami was to celebrate her as we head to the Mashujaa Day’s she was part of the heroes and heroines who fought for the country’s independence.
