‘Raila received Ksh10B from Kikuyu financiers to destabilise Ruto’s government’ – Thika Town MP claims

During a thanksgiving event organized by Trade Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria at AIPCA church in Thika on Sunday, March 20, 2023, Thika Town Member of Parliament (MP) Alice Ng’ang’a made a claim that opposition leader Raila Odinga received Ksh10 billion from undisclosed financiers to facilitate mass protests against the Kenya Kwanza government. According to the legislator, Raila received the money at a hotel, and the current administration has all the necessary information on the transaction, including where it happened and how. The MP also alleged that there is pictorial evidence to justify her claims.

In her speech, Ng’ang’a warned Raila that his actions will not intimidate President William Ruto’s government from fulfilling its campaign promises. The MP also accused Raila of destroying businesses owned by members of the Kikuyu community, although she spared the names of his financiers. She stated that the financiers are Kikuyus who previously held powerful positions in government and should come out and declare their interests.

The MP urged the financiers to openly disclose their position and how they intend to benefit from sabotaging businesses and the Kenyan economy. She also claimed that they have photos of how the deal was sealed.
