Popular Kikuyu Musician Kigia Wa Esther Sends Message To Raila Ahead of Supreme Court Ruling

Veteran Benga musician Peter Kigia wa Esther was among famous Kikuyu artists who supported Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition Party flagbearer Raila Odinga and his running mate Martha Karua.

Kigia campaigned and made tunes in acclaim out of Raila and asked the Kikuyu people to vote in favor of the one who had President Uhuru Kenyatta’s endowments.

In one of his tunes, ‘Baba Tosha’, the artist from Gatanga cautioned Mt Kenya against deciding in favor of Deputy President William Ruto asserting he was not best to lead the nation after Uhuru’s retirement.

“I have been labelled as the traitor of the community for supporting Raila but I want to tell you that if you ignore my message you will regret and remember me in the future,” he sings. Watch the SONG here (in Kikuyu language).

After Mt Kenya casted a ballot predominantly for Ruto and enabling him to win the August 9 elections, Kigia actually stays hopeful that Raila will be the next President.

In a Facebook post, he radiated hope that the Azimio’s presidential election petition at the Supreme Court against Ruto’s victory will succeed leading to the announcement of Raila as the President elect.

“Baba you are still in our minds we hope that you will win the battle & declared the winner!” Kigia posted.
