Police Reveal strange Disease NTV Journalist Rita Tinina Was Suffering From Before Her Death

Esteemed journalist Rita Tinina was discovered deceased in her residence by her housekeeper. Law enforcement authorities stated that Tinina, aged 46, was found lifeless at her home on Laikipia Road in Kileleshwa, Nairobi, on Sunday, March 17, in the morning.

Tinina was scheduled for duty at NTV, where she served as an Output Producer, but failed to show up. Concerned, her colleagues from work dispatched a team to her residence, where her body was found.

As per the police report from the Kilimani Sub-County and Kileleshwa Police Station, authorities were notified of the sudden demise, which deeply impacted the community.

At approximately 2:30 PM, Helen Silau Njaga, aged 58 and the elder sister of the deceased, reported the tragic incident to the authorities. She received a distressing call earlier that day around 10:45 AM from Robert Nagila, a colleague of Tinina.

Nagila informed her that Tinina, a 46-year-old Maasai female and respected journalist at Nation Media Group, was discovered unconscious in her bedroom at Brooklyne Apartments, House No. B6, situated along Laikipia Road in Kileleshwa.

Upon reaching the location, Helen Silau Njaga promptly sought emergency medical assistance. Regrettably, paramedics confirmed Tinina’s passing before their arrival.

At the time of her demise, Tinina resided in the apartment with her 8-year-old daughter, Mia Malaika, and a 36-year-old house help named Nelius Mwihaki Macharia.

The report indicated that Tinina had a history of epilepsy and had been battling a severe fever for the past five days, as disclosed by her sister, Helen Silau Njaga.

Authorities, accompanied by the duty officer from Kileleshwa and Kilimani Q10, visited the scene, which was processed by the standby SOC Nairobi. Upon examination, no physical injuries were evident on the body.

As part of the investigation, the body was transferred to Umash Morgue for preservation, pending autopsy. The case is under the jurisdiction of the DCI Kilimani division.
